We at Stonesoft are happy to announce the Stonesoft Investment Protection Program that has been created to secure and protect the investment the customers have made to network security.

The program has been designed to help the existing Stonesoft customers as well as customer using competing solutions to enjoy the opportunity to migrate their existing network security solution to an award winning StoneGate Security Platform. This means that customers have a cost-efficient opportunity to start using the converged services, such as VoIP, and to enjoy the productivity gains provided by the new technologies in a resilient and secure network.

The program is our response to our customers demand. The technological evolution has reached an inflection point where these technologies provide significant improvements in cost efficiency and productivity. Our continuous dialog with the customers has proved that they would like to gain the benefits in using the converged services in a secure and resilient network. Enabling this means also new investments in technologies that secure the information flow. To empower and accelerate this migration we provide a concrete way with the Stonesoft Investment Protection Program.

The program offers the customers a migration path from Stonesoft software solutions to StoneGate appliances and an opportunity to upgrade the StoneGate appliances to meet the customer evolving needs. In addition the program gives investment protection to non-Stonesoft customers, as it gives them an opportunity to migrate to StoneGate and gain credits for their trade-in equipment up to 30%.

Stonesoft´s Network Security Solutions To Be Part of Fujitsu´s Service Offering

Stonesoft has signed a contract with Fujitsu Services. This contract covers product, maintenance and service sales of Stonesoft´s network security products in Fujitsu´s service offering. The goal of the co-operation is to offer comprehensive ICT-solutions, including Stonesoft´s network security solutions that maintain business continuity, to Fujitsu´s customers.The contract broadens Fujitsu´s network security service offering that currently covers the Nordics and the Baltic countries.

“ We can in the future offer Stonesoft´s existing customers overall services to support their existing solutions. Customers that use network security solutions from Stonesoft can continue to use the platform they are familiar with. It is possible to purchase the solutions both as a single service and as a part of Fujitsu´s basic data technology model called Patja, says Mika Hyppönen, Development Manager at Fujitsu.

New office in Madrid

Stonesoft has expanded its Spanish team both on the commercial and technical side and moved into new premises in Madrid (Parque Empresarial Ática). The new premises include also a training class and several courses will take place this spring and summer.

Stonesoft Appoints Country Manager for DACH Region

Stonesoft has appointed Mr. Hermann Klein to the post of Country Manager for the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region. Hermann has a university degree in electrical engineering and data processing, and almost 20 years experience in IT-industry in EMEA region. Hermann starts in his new position at 1st June.

StoneGate IPS 2.0 and StoneGate Management Center 3.5 shipping

Stonesoft is pleased to announce the general availability of StoneGate IPS 2.0, and StoneGate Management Center 3.5. Also today we will start shipping new IPS appliances.

The costs of security incidents can be surprisingly high. These costs result from investigating the incident, limiting the scope and magnitude of it, and recovering from the incident. If and when we can prevent the damage altogether, the cost savings can be quite significant. StoneGate IPS 2.0 comes with inline IPS mode, in which all the packets are examined before they are passed on. By dropping malicious packets and connections immediately, StoneGate IPS prevents the damage from worms and other attacks. This protects unpatched systems and gives organization more time to patch their systems.

The unified management of StoneGate security gateways does not just give administrators a clear overview of what happens in their network, but it also leads to significant cost savings. In addition to a view to the security situation, StoneGate Management Center gives both high and detail-level information on the status of the connectivity and of the system itself. This information is vital for the administrators' ability to react quickly to possible problems related to security, network traffic, or the system itself. This ensures continuous resource availability to the business processes.

In StoneGate Management Center 3.5 the amount of items that can be monitored has been extended significantly. In addition, the communication performance of information monitoring has been improved significantly. This means that the monitoring scales up better in very large networks. As part of our continual improvements in reducing the total cost of ownership, the ability to centrally configure and manage large numbers of security gateways has been streamlined and improved to a new level in this release. Additionally, IPS configuration has been simplified so that it is more intuitive and easy to use, yet still powerful. These usability enhancements together with improved manageability reduce the costs of daily administration, the most expensive component of the total cost of ownership.

StoneGate Firewall & VPN 2.6.4 and VPN Client 2.6.2

Stonesoft is pleased to announce the release of StoneGate Firewall & VPN 2.6.4 and VPN Client 2.6.2, which are both maintenance releases of the 2.6 product line. StoneGate Firewall & VPN 2.6.4 and VPN Client 2.6.2 contain a number of fixes and/or work arounds to known technical issues.

Stonesoft customers with current support and maintenance contracts are entitled to free upgrades to the StoneGate Management Center and StoneGate Firewall & VPN available from, https://my.stonesoft.com/download.do.

Those customers without a current support and maintenance contract are requested to contact their local Stonesoft Sales representative to inquire about their maintenance and/or upgrade options.
