The new versions, part of the latest StoneGate Secure Connectivity Solution, provide disaster recovery capabilities for backup security systems control in the event of a network failure and smarter detection features to prevent encoded data attacks.The new version of StoneGate Management Center is designed to meet disaster recovery best practices with a high-availability utility that allows organizations to cluster up to five management devices -- one primary and four standby units -- for distributed and enhanced network security control. The patent is called ‘Method and device for handling related connections in a firewall’ and has been granted European-wide patent.Read more about the patent here.
Stonesoft Establishes New Patent for Detection of Buffer Overflow Attacks
Stonesoft has developed and patented a new technique for detecting attacks and exploits against previously unknown vulnerabilities. The patented invention provides two main advantages: improved performance due to the smaller size and number of fingerprints to be matched with the network traffic; and more importantly, the ability to detect new exploits and attacks against previously unknown vulnerabilities without knowing the exact attack code. The patent is called ‘An intrusion detection method and system’ and has been granted European-wide patent.Read more about the patent here.
