StoneGate secure connectivity solution provides comprehensive security with centralized management
Helsinki, Finland – 4 December 2007 – Stonesoft, an innovative
provider of integrated network security and business continuity solutions, introduces the new
StoneGate 4.2 secure connectivity solution comprising of StoneGate Firewall/VPN, IPS (Intrusion
Prevention System) and IPSec VPN Client, all centrally managed with the StoneGate Management Center
(SMC). The solution allows managed service providers (MSPs) to offer their customers services where
they can directly and safely see how their security policy is enforced, while at the same time
offering visibility into the customer’s own network.
Particularly small to midsized organizations are struggling with the challenge of handling
network security and IT infrastructure with in-house staff. StoneGate 4.2 product family allows
MSPs to provide SME organizations with reliable and secure, yet transparent network security
services.
“We at Stonesoft are proud to provide a solution that ideally serves the needs of MSPs and
their customers. MSPs appreciate the advanced centralized management offered by StoneGate
Management Center 4.2, as well as the possibility to offer new, advanced services to their
customers”, said
Klaus Majewski, Product Marketing Manager at Stonesoft.
“Few SMEs have the budget or competence required to maintain their network security on the
level it should be”, highlights Klaus Majewski. “Instead, they rely on the competence of MSPs to
guarantee the security, scalability and high availability of their IT solutions. StoneGate not only
provides excellent reporting services, but it allows MSPs to offer customers visibility to their
own alerts, logs and security policies. This makes customer change requests to MSPs easier to
handle and virtually error-free, which saves time and money on both sides.”
StoneGate products help MSPs provide security services like firewall, site-to-site highly
available VPN connectivity and Intrusion Prevention services using one centralized management. This
provides significantly reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and faster return on investment (ROI)
for both MSPs and their customers.
While the trend to outsource network security is growing, organizations still appreciate the
possibility to see what is happening in their network. With StoneGate Management Center 4.2,
including unique support for serial IPS clustering for additional throughput, MSPs can provide
their customers visibility into the network. MSPs can provide additional pre-emptive services like
informing customers when there is a laptop or a server in the network that has a network card that
is going to break down soon. This enables MSP to move from the reactive mode to more proactive
customer service.
