StoneGate Security Platform nominated as Best Network Security product for prestigious European awards hosted by Secure Computing Magazine
HELSINKI, Finland – February 5th, 2007 – Stonesoft Corp.,
the innovative provider of integrated network security and business continuity solutions, has been
named among the finalists for one the most prominent categories at the SC Magazine European
Excellence Awards 2007, hosted by Secure Computing Magazine.
Stonesoft’s flagship StoneGate Security Platform has been shortlisted in the Best Network
Security category. Last year the StoneGate High Availability Firewall won the SC Reader Trust award
for Best Enterprise Firewall category, and was also the overall winner of the Best Network Security
Solution.
Juha Kivikoski, Stonesoft’s Vice President, Europe and
Channels said: “Once again we are extremely proud that our StoneGate security technology has been
recognised with this prestigious award nomination. Businesses across Europe rely on StoneGate
products and services every day to secure their information flow, and we are extremely proud of the
very high levels of business continuity we were able to deliver to customers deploying our complete
StoneGate platform over the last year.”
The StoneGate Security Platform blends in-depth network security and end-to-end availability
into a unified and centrally managed system for distributed enterprises where security, uptime and
ease of use are key. It seamlessly unifies firewall, VPN and IPS. The Management Center allows
users to manage and administer all these components remotely through a single console. Security
gateway clustering, load balancing and Stonesoft’s patented Multi-homing technology Multi-Link,
which ensures continuous Internet availability and fault-tolerant VPN tunnels, are all standard
features within the StoneGate family of solutions.
StoneGate is available as a family of security appliances as well as a software solution
supporting a range of hardware platforms. Stonesoft's unique patented Multi-Link Technology enables
a single or clustered StoneGate firewall to access multiple Internet and VPN connections across
multiple ISPs, leased lines, or other connections. Multi-Link VPN adds fault tolerance and
transparent failover to VPN tunnels and VPN client connections, offering an advantage over other
firewall-VPN combinations. Multi-Layer Inspection allows the firewall to act as a packet filter,
perform stateful inspection or application-level firewall, using each method when it makes the most
sense on a rule-by-rule basis. For additional information about the StoneGate Security Platform,
