StoneGate security solution provides a flexible yet robust platform to ensure secure information flow
HELSINKI, Finland– 16 February, 2007 – Stonesoft Corp., an
innovative provider of integrated network security and business continuity solutions, launches the
first appliances of their new generation StoneGate™ product line. The renewed product offering has
been designed to meet the demands brought by increasingly complex and continuously expanding
network traffic.
StoneGate FW-5100 is designed to meet 10 Gbps performance
needs and
StoneGate FW-5000 has the throughput of 4 Gbps.
StoneGate IPS-6000 is designed to meet 2 Gbps capacity
needs.
StoneGate Firewall/VPN and IPS ensure security and resilient connectivity, making data
continuously accessible and secure. The new appliances are designed for seamless co-operation under
unified management, providing true modularity, ease of usage and a lower total cost of ownership
through significantly reduced administration costs.
StoneGate FW-5100 delivers performance of 10 Gbps, meeting the needs for redundancy and
scalability requirements of the following:
· Large central sites, VPN networks, and data centers with thousands of
users
· MSP (Managed Service Provider) and other operator environments that
require high throughput and flexibly managed solutions.
StoneGate IPS-6000 Intrusion Prevention System is the ideal
solution for large enterprises and MSP (Managed Service Provider) environments where 2 Gbps
capacity and flexible configuration is required.
StoneGate IPS is a proactive and adaptive defence mechanism that removes malicious packets
from network traffic. In the multi-layer defence system, several layers of security are working
together. In addition, StoneGate IPS communicates with StoneGate Firewall, expanding the protection
to the whole network. This field-proven technology raises network protection to a previously unseen
level.
In order to adapt flexibly to varying network environments, StoneGate IPS-6000 appliance
features two models: an in-line sensor for the most demanding Gigabit environments requiring a
separate analyzer, and a cost-efficient, combined in-line sensor/analyzer appliance for demanding
Gigabit environments and for increased ease of use.
Ensuring high availability and resilient connectivity
The key design principles of the new StoneGate product line are high availability and
resilient connectivity. StoneGate’s innovative ISP load balancing technology and redundant
construction make sure that networks are always available. The security solution reduces the risks
of downtime and costs from compromised data in today’s rapidly changing business environment
by
· Deep packet inspection for HTTP traffic protects against malicious
web-based attacks stopping non-authorized traffic.
· Quality of Service (QoS) and bandwidth management provides better
management of existing bandwidth while ensuring priority for critical and latency-intolerant
traffic.
· Patented Multi-Link technology offers high availability and load
balancing for Internet and VPN traffic across multiple network providers (ISPs). Multi-Link
technology provides the fastest connection to the Internet, eliminating the single point of
failure.
The new StoneGate FW-5100, FW-5000 Firewall/VPN and ISP-6000 appliances are available for
shipping on 5th March 2007.
