Layered defence provides integrated network security and business continuity

line with increased performance provides optimal network security while allowing enterprises to

Stonesoft´s position in the market has changed through the introduction of new products
from a network security provider to a business growth enabler. The wide product range is securing
the information flow in the networks and supporting the business of large enterprises and mid-size
companies.

According to a recent study by Bain&Co, 70 percent of senior executives at large

The convergence of voice, video and data in IP-based networks increases the demand for

Instead of the simplified “all eggs in one basket”, ie having just one layer of protection,
Stonesoft trusts in a layered defence where several layers of security are working together.
Layered defence means dividing the corporate network in different segments according to the
trust levels and using a combination of several protection methods for each security layer.
StoneGate security platform unifies firewall, VPN and IPS (intrusion prevention and detection
system) with centralized management for customers requiring advanced network security and always-on
business connectivity. Stonesoft will add SSL VPN to its offering to better support the business
needs of their customers and to provide enhanced security for distributed organizations with mobile
and remote users which are looking for lower costs of maintenance and greater richness in end-user
platform support.
