Stonesoft enters telecommunications market, providing support and resilience to Voice Over IP network
Reading, UK – 14 January– Stonesoft, an innovative provider of integrated network security and
business continuity solutions, has entered a partnership with Vibe Communications to provide the
telecommunications company with its StoneGate Platform.
Vibe Communications, a network carrier offering Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions and a
converged telecommunications service, will be using Stonesoft’s multi-linking VPN technology and
load balancing capabilities to support resilience and quality of service in its product offering.
The implemented Stonesoft solution will be overseen by its central management console, establishing
Stonesoft technology as an intrinsic part of Vibe’s services.
Stonesoft will ensure resilient connectivity to Vibe’s customers, controlling traffic over
its network and reducing down-time by providing back-up connection links. Darren Cubitt, managing
director of Vibe Communications, says: “One of the big attractions of StoneGate was its integrated
management. Also, its VPN technology will allow Vibe to link multiple sites and multi-service
providers into a single quality controlled network, thus maintaining high standards throughout our
rapidly expanding system.”
The partnership comes at a time when the communications industry is on the verge of dramatic
changes, with emerging and converging markets in mobile and IP telephony. Ashish Patel, UK and
Ireland country manager says: “Here at Stonesoft we are very pleased to be working with a partner
like Vibe Communications at this exciting time. Voice over IP is gaining momentum as a major new
player in the business services market, and working with Vibe Communications is a great opportunity
for Stonesoft products and services.”
Lying at the heart of the Stonesoft solutions is its central management server, which will
allow Vibe Communications to maintain and modify resilience, whilst maintaining StoneGate’s
capacity to scale with the organisation, handling increasing amounts of work in a refined manner.
