Virtual StoneGate security solution bridges physical and virtual worlds
Centrally managed virtual security solution ensures network security and business continuity
Helsinki, Finland – 27 February 2008 – Stonesoft, an innovative

comprehensive StoneGate Security Solution for VMware virtual environments. The first virtual
appliance, StoneGate Firewall/VPN, protects the network and ensures business continuity in both
virtual and physical network environments. The virtual StoneGate Security Solution stands out
through its unified management and multiple deployment possibilities, allowing organizations to
significantly reduce the costs and environmental impact of their IT infrastructure.

Virtual appliances provide organizations enhanced manageability and flexibility: new machines

The virtual StoneGate Firewall/VPN appliance functions like a regular firewall, protecting
the servers in the virtual network, preventing attacks and securing data communications with
Virtual Private Networks (VPN). The appliance can be used both in virtual machines and physical
network environments.
StoneGate Security Solution for virtual environments is particularly attractive for Managed
Service Providers (MSP), enabling them to manage several customer networks and appliances with just
one server. Moreover, the virtual appliances can be installed at any location in the virtual
networks, so they can be used to protect the traffic between consolidated servers in virtual
