Press Release
StoneGate Secure Connectivity Solutions for remote locations provides full-scale network security with ultimate ease of use
Securing the information flow of distributed organizations
ATLANTA - May 29, 2007 - Stonesoft Corporation, an innovative
provider of integrated network security and resilient connectivity solutions, today launched the
new StoneGateÔ secure connectivity solution for remote locations. The suite of products
includes the StoneGate™ FW-300 firewall/VPN and IPS-400 intrusion prevention system appliances and
is designed to provide organizations with remote offices and sites with a secure, cost-effective,
and easy to manage network service.
“Enterprise network security is only as strong as its weakest link. Remote locations usually
do not have the resources for on-site maintenance or complicated administration, yet they cannot
afford service downtime or security threats any more than the headquarters,” said
Paul Johnson, Senior Vice President of Stonesoft Americas. “
There was a clear need for a solution that is inexpensive and easy to use and maintain, but also
provides full-scale network security.”
The StoneGate secure connectivity solution for remote locations meets the needs of
distributed organizations, providing service continuity and enterprise class security at a
competitive cost-performance and cost-functionality ratio.
The StoneGate FW-300 protects data security at the perimeter or at the network segments and
the IPS-400 defends the network proactively by detecting malicious packets within regular network
traffic and blocking them before any damage occurs. Implementing the IPS expands the defense
further within networks enabling comprehensive, multi-dimensional network security.
The Firewall/VPN and IPS work together to provide intelligent defense throughout the
enterprise network. Appliance clustering and robust connection of the solution guarantee continuous
protection and eliminate the need for maintenance downtime.
Key benefits of StoneGate secure connectivity solution for remote
locations:
- Clustering of up to 16 devices giving any size organization the ability to easily scale to
support business growth while protecting long-term technology investments.
- Reliable and cost-efficient connections between locations using VPN over multiple ISPs
(Internet Service Providers) simultaneously. The patented Multi-Link™ technology provides the
fastest connection available and offers on-demand reserve capacity for overloaded Internet
connections
- Centralized management of appliances and remote locations with StoneGate Management Center
(SMC). The administrator has constant visibility and knowledge on the state of the entire network,
which significantly raises the level of network security. Remote upgrades and updates ensure easy
maintenance with low cost of operation.
- Guaranteed business continuity and protected investment with flexibility and scalability. The
StoneGate secure connectivity solution for remote locations allows for easy deployment of remote
office security and is easily integrated with existing security engines.
Availability
The new StoneGateTM FW-300 and StoneGateTM IPS-400 appliances began shipping
