In January 2012, StoneGate 5.2.5 achieved the Common Criteria Certificate for both its maximum security Firewall/VPN and high availability failover component.

Common Criteria is a widely recognized ISO standard that is ratified in 26 countries. StoneGate was tested and validated in Sweden by an independent lab facility called atsec under the supervision of CSEC.

"Common Criteria testing and validation in U.S. is very important to our Federal customers. StoneGate's EAL4+ certification, which encompasses its firewall, VPN and failover components, reflects our ability to provide robust network security combined with high availability. Common Criteria provides guidance to R&D teams through specific compliance requirements for IT security products," said Ilkka Hiidenheimo, the Founder and CEO of Stonesoft Corporation.

"Adhering to the methodologies for maintaining EAL4+ certification is important as we continue to advance the StoneGate technology internationally."

StoneGate is the only enterprise firewall and VPN with built-in high availability features that ensure always-on business connectivity. The software incorporates fully integrated centralized administration for easier management, including support for distributed network environments.
