Known Issue The problem:
The Hewlett-Packard DL360/380 G3 has been found to have severe compatibility problems with the Linux kernel version 2.6. The problems may be seen as slow network connectivity or random hang* situations.
All StoneGate FW/VPN 3.0 and IPS 2.0 versions use the Linux kernel version 2.6. We have not received reports of these problems with previous software versions (up to Firewall/VPN 2.6 or IPS 1.2).

The following hardware setup has been identified to cause problems:

HP DL380 G3
Bios: P29 9/15/2004
Network: 3 x Intel Pro/1000 MT Quad Port Server Adapters, 2 x Broadcom Adapters onboard.
12 x Intel NIC ports and one of the Broadcom NIC ports are in use.

(*) network connection does not work and engine is not responding to console commands or break signal

Workaround:
HP DL360 G3 or DL380 G3 should not be used with StoneGate FW/VPN engine versions newer than 2.6.3 or IPS engine versions newer than 1.2.4.
