Domains
Domains allow Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP) to easily
manage their customer environments centrally. The MSSPs can separate customer environments to
isolated subdomains, like having separate Management Server installations for each customer, which
still allows for sharing elements between all subdomains while keeping each customer’s elements
intact in all contexts. This unique architecture keeps the MSSP environments simpler and thus
easier to maintain.
The domains are a powerful tool also for large enterprise customers. Enterprise can separate
different business unit or divisions in their own domains, while still maintaining centralized
control over the whole corporation. You can use domains efficiently to specify
administrators access control by setting up logical boundaries for different
business domain areas. This allows delegating domain daily operations to local people while
maintaining the high level view of the total system in the corporate head quarters.
