Upgrading essential parts of a network infrastructure can be difficult and time-consuming.
StoneGate's Remote Upgrade eases the burden.
One-Step UpgradeStoneGate is an integrated package. There is no separate operating system or patches to apply. Simply download the upgrade image and push it to remote security engines using the management interface. StoneGate security engine is ready to return to production immediately after the upgrade. Existing configuration information is preserved during upgrades.
With StoneGate’s built-in high availability clustering, upgrades can be completed during business hours with zero impact to end-users. Cluster nodes can be upgraded one at a time, with the remaining nodes transparently handling the traffic as each node is rebooted. Service continues with no lost connections. StoneGate cluster stays in production at all times: during the upgrade image is being downloaded, while its integrity verified and the remote engine rebooted in order for the upgrade can take effect. Should the remote engine fail to boot, the upgrade is rolled-back to the previous version. This mechanism means that upgrades either succeed or fall back gracefully.
Scheduled Automatic UpgradesThe administrator can upload a new software version without immediate activation. For instance, the administrator can upload the upgrade before leaving the office and have the upgrade start during the night; then by the time the administrator returns to the office the next morning, all the firewalls have been safely upgraded.
