Monitoring
StoneGate provides a state-of-the art unified real-time monitoring view for System Component
Monitoring as well as Network Traffic Monitoring.
System Status Monitoring
All StoneGate systems, including Firewalls, IPSs, VPNs and SSL VPNs and Servers can be monitored
via the same unified interface.
The Status Monitoring view offers an easy way to get an overview of the current situation and to
smoothly drill down into the monitored devices' detailed information, up to diagnostic-level
information. The view can also present information about the appliances' hardware status, such as
network interfaces and hard-drive statuses, fan speeds, temperatures and much more.
From the System Status Monitoring view, you can directly change the status of the devices and
command the devices. The monitoring system can also notify you via alert channel using
Policy-Based Alert Escalation system, if the monitored device become
unreachable.
By creating
Diagrams, you may also use your network diagrams for status monitoring, which
provides you a user-friendly, graphical way to follow the status of your network.
Traffic Monitoring
StoneGate Monitoring Overviews provides you a visual monitoring dashboard to your
network data. Overviews are collections of statistical charts and tables, which can be arranged in
a grid for easy monitoring of several statistical charts at once. You can save several Overviews to
gain quick access to your favorite displays.
Some issues that require an administrator's attention develop gradually. For instance, the
firewall may start to drop packets at a rate that is slowly increasing. Whereas it is difficult to
notice this by looking at the numbers, the trend is easy to see when the information is presented
graphically.
To be useful, the presentation needs to be customizable to meet the specific requirements of
the customer environment. Information has to be available immediately without a need to wait until
the graph is available.
With Monitoring Overviews you can follow the general trends in network traffic and bandwidth
utilization from several sources in real time. You can see, for example, the utilization of the
interface or VPN tunnel, allowed and denied connections, and the general volume of traffic as pie
charts, bar charts, or curve charts, depending on the type of statistics you are viewing.
