Requirements may include the inspection of:

Firewall and anti-virus software
Operating systems and patches
Spyware checking
Device type
Network configuration

Only approved applications can connect to the VPN tunnel.
Partial-pass results in forwarding to update site, reduced access (based on policy) or denial of access.
